Human Rights Festival: Poetry Festival (Day 2)

Spoken word is a powerful way of expression and tool to defend human rights. South Africa has seen an explosion of interest and participation in spoken word.

Poetry will be used to express / narrate difficult issues society is grappling with. Through this creative medium of expression we will be challenged to think a and liberate minds and souls.

Citizens and established poets alike will get an opportunity to grab the microphone and deliver the spoken word in a way they understand in a speaker’s corner.

In the poetry fest we will pay homage to Bra K who used poetry as a form of activism.
